Long time no blog :)

It's been a while since I last posted an entry. I'm not so much of a blogger though. I just try to write something interesting here now and then, more specifically geared towards humour to share with the world instead of writing about my life. Anyway, I'll try to update this blog as much as I can. I'll be posting ongoing works of some of my drawings (mainly anime and manga) just for fun. Note that I'm an awful artist though! haha :) I'll also try to post some coding tips or sample code, just for the fun of it. My currently preferred languages are C# and Java. I used to program in Delphi but that's old story now.

See yah peeps (no one reads thig blog anyway !!).

Your attitude is welcome!

I wonder what makes people behave the way they do without giving a thought to what others think. Maybe attitude is based on serious conviction of one's own conclusions. Could also be based on wrongly percieved ideas. I don't know but all I can do it live and let live. Getting angry on petty stuffs aren't worth it. What I'm saying might be incoherent but nevermind, whatever your attitude is, you're always welcome. Yeah.

Cheers,
Your attitude is welcome (Alien Ant Farm)

Knock! Knock?

Yeah, I've been absent from my blog for quite some time now. Busy with work, busy with life. I don't find the courage nor time to code on my PC at home these days. I've started programming like when I was 13 on an old salvaged Commodore 64 which I still have and in full working condition ;-) . It was not until i was 16 that I was able to buy my first PC, a 333Mhz Intel Celeron equipped with 32MB of RAM and 3.2GB hard disk. I've been coding in several languages since then: DOS scripts, PHP, Pascal, Object Pascal (Delphi, Free Pascal), Linux shell scripts, Java, C++, JavaScript and now C#.

Anyway, at work I code all day long and the zeal that I had a year ago is completely gone. I don't know if I'll be able to get that back some day soon, I have several projects from my pre-work days that need to be finished.

All I do after I get back home is play games and sometimes the guitar! Yeah, I'm a hardcore player. I'm fully into Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament 2004 (but not Chicken Shit, oh sorry Counter Strike). Painkiller is awesome, the atmosphere is great. In some way I find it "scarier" than Doom 3's puny attempts at making you scream your ass off. Tight dark corridors with zombies on EVERY corner, inadequate lighting etc. And what's up with the bump mapped and fuck faced characters? Agreed the light and shadow effects are nice but overall Doom 3 is pure shit. Let's forget that. Last week I got to try Tribes Vengeance and the game is very promising. Next up, I think I'll get back to Star Wars KotOR, finish Hitman 2, play Hitman Contracts and install my copy of Splinter Cell : Pandora Tomorrow. Oh and I think I have to get back to IL2-Sturmovik : Forgotten Battles again. Geez, that's a lot of games to play. So little time.... so little time :(

Ok, enough of my rants and ramblings.

Free?

When something is free, be it an item or a service, there is tendency for abuse. For example, if you had free beer wouldn't you gulp a keg every 10 minutes? Or what about free blowjobs? Hmmmm gets you thinking, hey?

As it turns out, I'm the local computer guy in my neighbourhood (and some extended neighbourhood also). Whenever someone has problems with their PCs, guess who they call? I never charge a single cent to anyone but they are free to give me food, clothing, 5 cent coins, bits of nail, etc if that suits them. Computers aren't dumb, users are! I'm sorry if I've offended you but I've got tons of morons who ring me up whenever they feel like and "tell" me to "come" to their house to repair their computers which broke by "itself". I don't work for you motherfucker, and you're not paying.

Two days ago, my neighbour asked me to come to his place and see what's wrong with his computer. Apparently he wasn't able to access the Windows's Control Panel to dial the internet! So, he just ring me up and say "Hey I've got a problem on my PC, I can't access the internet. Come and fix it." I'm like WTF? I don't give a damn about your PC. I've got my PC's power supply blown up into pieces and i need to install that new hard disk I just bought. So, I screw him until his wife phoned me yesterday and said in an exhasperated tone: "You know, I can't access the net since two days and I'm worried sick about my daughter in France. I can't contact her. Are you at home?" To that I lie: "No, I'm at a friend's place and won't be back for at least 2 hours". She then replied: "Well, when you leave, just come to my place immediately". And I lie again: "OK". Fuck you ma'am, you can use the phone to contact your silly daughter and get some other techie to repair your damn computer or subscribe to some "How to use a computer" lessons for dummies. Fuck, Fuck, Fuck and FUCK! Time to learn how to use that PC of yours or dump it.

I know not people are like me but I'm sure we all have at least a little bit of common sense. When I had my first PC, I was a complete newbie and whenever I had problems, I scavenged the net (my next-best friend after my doggie) or racked my head until I fixed the problem. I NEVER phoned anybody for help. If you think that I'm ranting about a couple of phone calls then you're terribly mistaken. I get 100's of them like that everymonth and now that I'm working I don't have time to tackle your problems. I have my own. It might seem selfish but I'm tired of this abuse. I will continue to help people who are genuinely in trouble and those who are willing to learn by themselves before calling for help.

I'm off for some sleep now. See yah!

Behaviour Observation #1

Hi peeps, I'm going to write periodically about behaviours (human). From all these years, I've collected (mentally) lots of information about behaviours and this enabled me to understand how the individual mind works and deduce the character of the individual. This allowed me to manage my environment quite well. Well, these observations are mostly subjective and in no way represent accurate psycological data.

Naturally Curious
Some people are naturally curious and have an impetus for gathering knowledge. I think I just described me but what I'm going to talk about is quite different: people who are curious and need to act knowledgeable! Sounds familiar? Read on.

Well, imagine sitting down talking to a friend and someone else (a friend, colleague, etc) from some distance away scrutinizes in your direction, trying to pick up fragments of sound waves coming from you and your friend. Then he/she walks up towards you and starts talking about whatever he/she picked up from that distance and tries to be smarter/more knowledgeable. I didn't talk to you, Bob, so why interfere? Hmmmmm.... It's ok if someone has overhead your conversation and just pops in to add something, but not when that someone is listening for some time and trying to figure out how to intervene in a smarter way!

Huh? What? Yeah, I know I shouldn't point fingers but heck, doesn't that annoy you?

Lotteries, anyone?

Joyous thy can be
With lots of money
Earned from a lottery
Happy for eternity
No more misery,
Nor any poverty
Illusion it is though
For you reap what you sow
The joy turns to sorrow
Money is earned, as you know
Work hard for your reward
Life will have another regard
The pleasure is thrice worth
Nothing can offer on Earth

[I was inspired to write this poem today when I read an article on MSNBC about lottery winners not being happy. The thing is earning your money gives more pleasure than getting it for free]

Movies!!! Miam Miam!!

Hey! Lotsa movies coming soon : SpiderMan 2, Shrek 2, Kill Bill 2, Troy, Van Helsing, 13 going on 30 and lots more. So much goodies even if some are a bit crap ;-) HOWEVER, waiting for the movies to show on our theatres, battered and mutilated, is torture. What is Amnesty International doing about that? In this damned little island of mine, we have to wait for the french-dubbed version to be screened around the theatres in France and THEN dumped here.

Ain't that a bitch?

I'm so tired. I'm so lazy. I love the Japanese culture. I love Japan, the country of hard workers. Sometimes, I just want to live there but I guess Japan has no place for a lazy chap like me. Fuck, what's Japan got to do with movies?

Dude, it really sucks to be in my place.
